QPB11 - Human Origins Heritage - Participatory archaeology and methods in Sangiran, Indonesia
My research focuses on public / community archaeology and citizen science applied to archaeology at several Pleistocene sites. The purpose of the approach is to analyse the potential benefits of participatory protocols for heritage conservation and community involvement while maintaining high scientific standards. I work on a number of field missions in Indonesia, France, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These projects include salvage digs, archaeological surveys, research excavations and heritage conservation expertise. Even though I mainly focus on ancient prehistory in Indonesia, I also take part in research on other areas and periods of history.
